The Mendip Challenge 2024 is an exciting sponsored event for those looking to have fun, challenge themselves and raise money for Weston Hospicecare.
There are 4 routes to choose from – 30 miles (starting at Wells), 20 miles (starting at Draycott), and a 10 mile and 5 mile circular walk. With all routes finishing at Weston super Mare Cricket Club.
The event takes place on Sunday 2nd June, with a registration fee of £10 – £25 depending on the chosen route.

The Buoys are a Weston-based Shanty Band which travels throughout Somerset and the SouthWest performing for a variety of venues and festivals. All monies and fees are donated to the SouthWest Childrens’ Hospice in Wraxall, Nr Bristol. We are always on the look-out for talented singers and musicians.
In 2023 the Weston Ukulele Players raised £9,208.92 which they donated to the Children’s Hospice South West in Wraxall. They played songs from the ‘50s, ‘60s and ‘70s at numerous care homes, pubs, clubs, holiday venues, and societies throughout North Somerset. Thank you to everyone who booked them to play at an event last year. After a brief break over Christmas they are back out playing and collecting more donations for the Hospice.
